Orchestral Highlights
Recent highlights in Chris's orchestral experience include tours with ensembles such as Delirium Musicum, A Far Cry & the Münchner Festspielorchester. With these groups, as well as the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Chris has been lucky to have played orchestral concerts internationally in famed halls such as the Athens Megaron, Berlin Philharmonie, Frankfurt Alte Oper, Vienna Musikverein and the South Africas Regina Mundi Church.
Chamber Music Experience
Chamber Music is where Chris feels most at home. His passion and curiosity for the art form began in high school at the ChamberMusicLab when he prepared and performed the Schubert C Major Quintet with coach Bruce Coppock playing second cello. Since then, Chris has been involved in a multitude of chamber music projects across the world spanning from Historical Performance projects to World Premieres across the United States and abroad in places such as Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Zurich and Quebec. His most intense Chamber Music studies were done during his undergraduate at Oberlin under the tutelage of Sibbi Bernhardsson, Francesa DePasquale, Kirsten Docter and the Verona Quartet. During this time, he was part of the Advanced String Quartet Seminar, 50 for the Future(a project by Kronos quartet promoting music by living composers) and a member of the Resident String Quartet at St. Clarence.
Work in his Community
Chris's passion for Community Outreach started early on when he would visit Grandma and play for her and the other appreciative nursing home residents. Since then Chris has been active in every community he has been fortunate to call home. Most notably, he was the Founder & Managing Director of the Cardinal Chamber Orchestra which was a condcutorless string orchestra dedicated to outreach and providing music and music education in a way that best fit the community partners in the greater Cleveland area. During his time in Oberlin, he was a volunteer music at the Grafton Correctional Institution's Unmuted Strings, a string orchestra program in the prison run by Renovate Music. Most recently, Chris completed a tour, mostly consisting of outreach events, as part of the Fellowship Quintet for the 2026 Credo Music Festival.
Instrument
Chris is beyond grateful to have recently acquired a viola by Vermont based legend, Douglas Cox, after receiving a generous scholarship from the maker himself. He plays on Cox's opus 1101, a viola modeled after a Goffriller instrument. Prior to purchasing this Cox instrument, Chris was grateful to have played on another Cox viola on generous loan from Oberlin Conservatory during his studies. His bow is by Jianfeng Li.
